Our Story

Kitchen Encounters began as a father-son partnership between Mike and John Sheehe. When the firm launched, it was an expansion of Mike’s existing countertop fabrication company. Equipped as a full kitchen and bath showroom, Kitchen Encounters began catering to homeowners throughout Southern Vermont and beyond. When Mike passed away in 2012, John partnered with long-time employee Jonathon Gallipo to further grow our services—including our custom fabrication capabilities.

Today, the two are hands-on co-owners who set our service apart with their direct involvement on every project. When something needs to get done, there’s no chain of command standing in the way. As a result, we can complete projects quickly and with few hiccups along the way. Kitchen renovation and home construction often present unique, unexpected project challenges; the key is being prepared to tackle those challenges readily and efficiently.

We operate our own workshop for custom fabrication of countertops and cabinets, so your imagination is the limit when it comes to materials you can incorporate into your kitchen. In addition, our shop allows us to make minor adjustments to factory products, thus avoiding long delays caused by sending products back to the manufacturer. As a result, we’re able to work on a shorter timeline than other remodeling companies in the area.
